2020 Annual Fund Donations
The world changed in March, and the New Haven Pride Center changed with it, transitioning much of our programming online while always remaining a resource for our community.
Homophobia, Biphobia, and transphobia thrive in isolation, and the most vulnerable of us are those who are especially isolated. Cultural programming like Queerflix & Chill virtual movie nights as well as services like a call-or-text warm line provide a vital lifeline to our community by breaking that isolation and providing a sense of normalcy. Ongoing support and social groups provide a space for collectively processing all the emotions of this difficult time. We're providing for our community materially as well, paying performers for a biweekly series of Drag Artist Story Hour videos and commissioning artists to design colouring book pages. The New Haven Pride Center is navigating the present with an eye to the future. We have not cut staff and are continuing to adapt to the long emergency, finding new ways of serving our community.
Millions of Americans recently out of work are depending on their stimulus checks to cover basic expenses like food and rent, but if you aren't one of them, consider supporting the New Haven Pride Center and afford us the opportunity to continue serving our community. By contributing a portion of your stimulus money to the Center, you are making an investment in LGBTQ+ community, culture, and support throughout the state and helping us build a better tomorrow.
