Community Campus Coalition's AmeriCorps Student Resource Center Program

The Community Campus Coalition AmeriCorps Student Resource Center program, sponsored by ServeOhio, will place AmeriCorps members at higher education member institutions throughout Ohio for a second year in 2020-21 to develop a Student Resource Center (SRC) program. In support of the mission of Ohio Campus Compact, the AmeriCorps Student Resource Center Coordinators support the development and growth of the Student Resource Centers, an Community Campus Coalition initiative, which is designed to support campuses in identifying and providing much-needed resources to students who experience barriers to their academic success. The SRC is a physical location on a campus where students can openly and freely seek support for challenges they are facing. During the quick transition to virtual classes, SRC Coordinators have been assisting students from a distance during a critical time in may student's lives. A center or “hub” will be a place where students will be connected with campus and community partners that are able to provide the access to resources that students need to address the issues they are facing. No issue that may cause a student to withdraw from a course or leave an institution without earning a college degree is too small. The SRC initiative plays an active role in supporting the needs of students and achieving course success and degree attainment especially during the pandemic, and will play a significant role in making sure students have the resources they need upon returning to campus.

With your donation, we can increase the capacity of our AmeriCorps members to serve their campus community. Students and communities need our help more than ever during this crisis.
