2020 Bike To School Week (Virtually!)
International Bike to School Day is coming up on May 6th. While we can’t gather for group rides and may not be able to ride to our actual schools, we still want to encourage kids and families to get out responsibly for some physical activity before settling into school work from home!
From Monday May 4th through Friday May 8th, try to get out at least once for a morning (or “Phys Ed” time) ride around your neighborhood, to an uncrowded local park, or maybe to pick up some healthy takeout breakfast. Please adhere to all physical distancing guidelines by riding only with members of your own household, wearing masks or other face coverings, and keeping your distance from others. Of course be sure to wave and say hello if you see others riding “to school”. Please avoid driving somewhere to ride unless it is unsafe to bike right from your house.
After your ride, share a screenshot of your route or another picture from the ride on Instagram and/or Facebook using #biketoschoolcos and tagging Kids on Bikes for the chance to win a $50 camp gift card and a $50 Pedal Station gift card.
Little events like these help fund our mission to inspire and empower all kids to lead healthy, active, and happy lives through bicycling. We thank you in advance for any donation. You are helping get more kids earning and riding their bikes!
If you need any suggestions for safe routes in your neighborhood don’t hesitate to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
