Cultivating Strength with Age
My Olympic Story
There is an Olympic story that went largely untold. It’s the story of a life long dream wrongly denied, a flag never raised, an anthem never played, a filled stadium and world that never knew the truth.
In 2004 I won the Olympic Games, but it wasn’t until 2012 that the world found out when it was revealed that the Ukranian athlete had, in fact, been cheating as determined by a retroactive drug test. My medal ceremony or rather exchange took place in the food court at the Atlanta Airport in July of 2013.
While this is my story, this moment does not define me. My personal integrity and my passion for excellence over a lifetime of training does and these traits continue to motivate me as I continue my Olympic Journey now in my 40s.
And it is this same integrity and passion that I want to share with you through the launch of my new company, STRONG@40. STRONG@40 is a new sports and lifestyle brand that will educate, inspire, and recognize the “masters” athlete as it fills the massive void of information and opportunities for athletes over the age of 40.
