Participants can expect to spend about fifteen hours total engaged with course content and activities, including 2 full-group Zoom sessions. There will also be optional office hours for additional consultation with the facilitators. Asynchronous learning activities will take place on Google Classroom. Participants will receive a certificate for 15 hours of professional learning upon completion.

Participants will understand what trauma is and how it impacts individuals and school systems
Participants will apply the basic principles of trauma-informed practice to their own settings
Participants will make connections between trauma-informed practices and restorative practices
Participants will understand the tenets of restorative justice and how it differs from traditional justice in educational contexts
Participants will review the spectrum of restorative practices
Participants will assess the Circle Process for overlap between SEL core concepts and academic standards.
Participants will apply their learning to their classroom role and setting.
During week 1, each day there will be a short (15-20) minute video with a connected learning activity. Participants can complete these at their own pace. Facilitators will verify completion of each activity. There will also be optional Extension resources each day for participants to explore.

During week 2, participants will work on an Action Project to apply their learning to their unique setting and role. Facilitators will hold office hours to answer questions and provide feedback. After project submission at the end of week 2, each participant will get personalized feedback and resources to help them in implementing their action project.
