SFDanceworks was founded in 2014 by James Sofranko, known as a soloist dancer with the San Francisco Ballet, as well as the co-founder of Dance For A Reason (DanceFAR). SFDanceworks is dedicated to the past, present, and future of dance as an art form through high quality live performance, featuring the choreography of dance masters and current established artists, as well as emerging talent. SFDanceworks is a repertory company and strives to cultivate new artists and present commissioned work on a regular basis. The Inaugural Season was presented to sold out houses in June 2016 to popular and critical acclaim.
SFDanceworks Season Two will be June 22-24, 2017, co-produced with the ODC Theater. The season will feature works by the legendary José Limón, Christopher Bruce CBE, Alejandro Cerrudo, Penny Saunders, and Danielle Rowe.
