Mother Jones Chicago Statue Campaign
Chicago needs a statue to this immigrant woman labor organizer!
There are now just a few statues of women
historical figures in the city of Chicago. None are of working class women. Let's put this iconic Irish
immigrant refugee and founder of the American labor movement--the Mother
of the working class--on a statue in the city she called home. Imagine presenting a strong, courageous, bold women in downtown Chicago. She deserves it. We deserve it.
The government of Ireland seeded this project with $36,000 grant. We need to raise a total of $200,000. Please give generously. All donations are tax-deductible. We are a 501-c-3.
We are moving forward, and will have exciting news. The City of Chicago's decision is based on our campaign proving support for this project.
Imagine, "Let's meet at the Mother Jones statue!"
