PLAN Movement Building Fund - ARCHIVED

About PLAN:

PLAN: The Post-Landfill Action Network is a nonprofit that cultivates, educates and inspires the student-led zero waste movement.

We believe that waste is just resources in the wrong place, so we work with college students across North America to implement waste diversion programs (like those listed below) that keep materials from ending up in landfills and incinerators.

By supporting the success of student programs with a measurable campus-wide impact, we empower students to see not only that institutional change is possible, but they can be the ones to make it happen.

What is The Movement Building Fund?

Many individuals find their ability to participate in the Zero Waste movement is limited by a lack of financial resources, an obstacle that is embedded in structural and institutional  inequalities across race, class, ability, and gender. Our Movement Building Fund creates a pathway into the Zero Waste movement and addresses some of these financial barriers;  it provides things like travel stipends to our annual conference, free advising resources to campus groups with limited funding, and health insurance stipends to our staff.  As we grow, we aim to directly support people who have been historically marginalized and we will accomplish this by dedicating a portion of the Movement Building Fund’s resources to folx who have been most impacted by systemic oppression.  To further understand how we see this fund growing in the future, please visit our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Mandate.
