Our Own Mythology
A member of Intersection for the Arts
At its core, this collaboration is a two-part artistic conversation. Firstly, between Olivia Bianco-Chaidez, Aima Paule, and Juniper Yun, three q+t femme of color artists/organizers and members of BRUJX BLOCK and second with the QT-BIPOC communities they are a part of. By creating an art series inspired by our cultural heritages, and through the subsequent formulation of arts-centric and political action-making workshops, we will uplift our voices so that we can engage and empower the marginalized communities we are a part of. Secondly, with this project, we aim to disrupt the continued socioeconomic attack on our peoples by arming our community with knowledge to protect themselves and to heal spiritually. The project will utilize socially engaged arts practices to learn and listen to the mythos of the community, of their daily struggles and triumphs.
