Dear TJOC volunteer staff and early supporters,
The TJOC Board of Directors encourages you, our amazing volunteer staff and early supporters, to participate in a very exciting and rare opportunity. TJOC is offering a two-part experiential workshop for team building and strategic visioning. It will be led by Dr. Rick Campa, a clinical psychologist from Austin, TX who is a licensed Systems-Centered® Practitioner and Trainer.
WHEN:
Friday 7/31 and 8/14 from 2-430 PM EST.
WHERE:
Zoom (Link will be sent after registration is complete)
WHY:
Systems-Centered Theory (SCT)® is described as “an innovative approach to sustainable change” which:
Uses the core method of “functional subgrouping” to legitimize and explore differences within a group, in a context that holds space for safe and respectful interactions, in which all voices can be heard
Offers:
An alternative to the human tendency of dismissing, ignoring, or scapegoating differences. SCT uses a unique approach to communication that is inherently inclusive of all voices, especially those that are often marginalized in society
A method of allowing our communication boundaries to remain open so that the group can survive, develop, and transform as it moves along its path to reach its goal
As our leader and group facilitator, Rick will:
Explain the principles of SCT® to us using a format where individuals can choose to observe or participate
Facilitate an experiential group for TJOC team building and envisioning what we want to accomplish and become by the end of our first year next July
Lead a post-experiential group discussion, to help us reflect on our experiences and their value to us individually and collectively, toward the end of the second workshop
Provide each of us with a new set of valuable tools to take away from the experience which we can use both at TJOC and elsewhere in our lives
PREPARATION:
Before attending this workshop, we strongly suggest participants watch the following video, to learn more about SCT and see it in action:

COST:
The tax-deductible registration price is $46.89-106.89.
Especially during these difficult times, we want you to attend, regardless of your financial situation. We are fortunate to be able to offer a limited number of scholarships, which can be applied for via an inquiry email sent to drnomi@thejoyofoconsent.org.
We hope to see you there!
In Spirit,
Dr. Nomi, Rhea, and Buck
