Hello all! My name is Jill Brown and I am extremely excited to be a part of what God is doing with and through Zera House. I am married to my best friend, Edward, and together we have 4 young adult children, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and some chickens. I also tolerate my son’s snake and lizard colony. My favorite things in life are Worship music, road trips, reading, saving animals, mountain creeks, bonfires, sunrises, sunsets, searching for 4-leaf clovers, and my family and friends. I am definitely a mountain girl, originally from a small coal mining town in western Pennsylvania, although I grew up in Northern Virginia. I now live in a beautiful community around Lake Norman, North Carolina. We love our Pursuit Church Family and our small town in Catawba County. I live a very simple life and get the most joy from my morning or late night alone time with the Lord.
While being a stay at home mom, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services from Montreat College and continue to work towards a Masters in Clinical Counseling. As I was finishing my bachelor’s from Montreat’s faith-based program, God brought me to the Safe Harbor Renewal Community as an intern and then kept me as a volunteer where I worked with women who were suffering from homelessness and substance abuse disorder, and some who were survivors of sex-trafficking. I just could not go back to the secular work environment and I could feel the pull of God on my life. I spent some time in fasting and prayer and the result was an instant connection to the Zera House Family.
I cannot think of more important work than working alongside God and the amazing Zera house family to help restore those who have been shattered through trafficking and sexual exploitation. God has been faithful in showing me the path He wants me to take and I have learned to follow the voice of Jesus with boldness, faith, and courage. The greatest honor of my life is working hand in hand with Jesus to show His love to those who are hurting, to use His Word to help Him heal the broken and to use the Gospel to help Him show the hopeless how valuable they are to the Creator of the Universe. True restoration only comes through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and I feel very privileged and humbled to be a part of His hands and feet in this mission. WE LOVE BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US!!
“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, and establish you. To Him be the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 5:10-11
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-10
