Structured Study Hall
A Place for Remote Learning
What We Offer
The Barn is offering a stuctured study hall for children who are learning remotely. We will offer a quiet space that will allow kids to stay focused on their school work while keeping socially distanced and adhering to local and state public health standards. The Barn will provide proctors to make sure the children are staying on task and logging into their live sessions when scheduled as well as assist in navigating Google Classroom to contact their teachers when help is needed. Students must bring their own school materials as well as an electronic device to be used to attend live sessions of class. The Barn has plenty of socially distanced work stations with electrical access and WIFI. There will also be games, activities, and outside time for when work is complete and there is a break in their schedule.
Children will be given times to have snacks and lunch during the day.
For Who & When
This program accomodates children from 4th through 12th grade and has open pick up and drop off times from 7:15AM - 3:15 PM. We will follow the A/B cohort schedule instituted by Madison & Guilford Public Schools. We will also offer an option of extended hours, for those who need just a little more time. When children finish schoolwork they can play games, do crafts and explore outside every week day from 3:15PM-5:30PM.
Program Options for Session One:
Our first session will run Monday through Friday, 7:15AM-3:15PM
September 8th to October 2nd (18 school days)
Additional sessions will be added soon.
FULL TIME: ($1,170) This is for the students who will need their workspace during every school day. Session One has 18 school days for full time distance learners.
COHORT A or B: ($650) Students who will be participating in the hybrid school model will be distance learning the first or last 2 or 3 days of the week, depending on the Cohort they are assigned. Locally these cohorts are labeled A or B and we will be using them to identify those students. We have established that during session one there will be 10 school days for each cohort.
Drop-In Club:($25 deposit + $70 per day) Some students will only need an occasional day depending on their family’s schedule. Since we are required to have detailed information, health and safety precautions, as well as medical forms, we cannot allow a student to just “walk-in”. So we have created a Drop-in Club. Membership requires a $25 deposit that will be refunded to you after your student’s first paid Drop-In day. For Drop-Ins we require students to contact us via email prior to entry to get a confirmation of availability. Space is very limited and is on a first come first serve basis. Once registered, participants will receive more information as well as a link to purchase drop-in day sessions.
Extended Hours: ($20 per day for monthly session/$25 per day for drop-in) For students who need a little longer day, we have extended hours available from 3:15-5:30pm. Parents can add this to an existing program, or it can stand alone as an option for “after school”. We do NOT provide transportation to and from school.
