Support the Farmers Loan Fund!
In the aftermath of the volcano eruptions which initially started 25 years ago, Montserrat remains in rebuilding mode. MRDF USA is committed to fostering and supporting development efforts which include not only brick and mortar renovation of needed services, such as our ongoing work with the Golden Years Senior Home and other social and cultural institutions, but also support of education initiatives, and loans for projects that support long-term sustainability such as clean energy, recycling and local farming.
We are creating a fund for loans to local farmers to install irrigation systems on their land, to increase the farming potential of Montserrat, and to build a vibrant farmer's market. The loans are intended to be below market interest rates, with attractive terms. This loan project, as well as other loans for the rebuilding and development of homes and businesses on Montserrat, will assist MRDF in becoming a fully sustainable charity. Please help us start this loan fund!
Assisting with these lending efforts is time-consuming grass-roots labor for the staff of MRDF USA for which we incur administrative costs and expenses. MRDF USA needs your help to support for our administrative and operational costs to keep us on target with our mission!
Our fundraising target for this fiscal year is $150,000.00. Your donation, whether it is a one-time donation or recurring donation will assist us with starting the loan fund, supporting our operational costs, as well as with additional funds to support the goals of MRDF USA which are to be a facilitator of the recovery and development of Montserrat, BWI focusing on development, education and sustainability.
For citizens of the USA, MRDF is a 501(c)(3) charity and your gifts are tax-exempt.
We hope you will donate now to this worthy cause. All hands on deck!
