Steve Mielke - Friend and Warrior
Friends,
With deep sadness, Steve Mielke passed away
recently on March 2, 2021 after an almost 6.5-year valiant battle with
pancreatic cancer. Our sincere condolences go to his wife Jeanine, his children, and loved ones.
Steve's effervescent smile, personality, and positive outlook on life was so
inspirational to other "Warriors" fighting the same battle. His
never-ending smile could light-up the darkest room. He exuded the greatest
optimism that gave other patients so much hope absent of fear.
He was indeed a very special man. Yes, his smile could light-up the room, but
he could light-up the darkest moments of fellow patients around him.
Steve raised funds for revolutionary research and clinical trials led by
Dr. Daniel Von Hoff and Dr. Erkut Borazanci who he praised for setting
the national standard for treating this formidable disease and blessing
him for extending his quality of life for many more years well beyond the
original prognosis.
We will severely miss Steve Mielke in so many ways. His love of life and
family, his passion for life itself, words of such positive wisdom, and his
valiant courage of fighting this dreadful disease even while fighting serious
medical traumas beyond those pancreatic cancer.
Donations in Steve's honor are appreciative which permits The Seena Magowitz
Foundation to fund innovation research in his honor.
