Our DREAMS Community is Devastated by the Recent Floods
Pakistan's most populous city has been hit by its heaviest rainfall since records began in 1931. The villagers have built a community in the largest landfills of Karachi, Pakistan. With the heavy rainfalls, mtheir homes have been washed out. They are out of work and are struggling to make their day to day. All inroads to the village have been destructed.
After several days we were able to make our way into the community to set up emergency food relief programs. Today, we are providing 2 meals a day to more than 1500 individuals. As of now, these are the only meals available to these people who have lost their belongings and ability to earn an income. The cost to serve 1500 individuals is approximately , $1000 per day.
Schools have been on pause since COVID-19 lockdown, should conditions improve we are due to open campus again mid September.
Today we are serving this community with a free and quality education
