A socially distanced Drive In
Chicago Fair Trade is thrilled to invite you to Globalfest 2020, THE premier fair trade party of the year. This year, we are getting creative and hosting Drive-In Globalfest. This socially-distanced event is taking place at the beautiful, historic Humboldt Park Boathouse. Guests with cars will be parked in the boathouse parking lot. No car? No problem! We'll have a dedicated area for pedestrians and cyclists. All guests will have the option of gathering on the spacious boathouse patio at a safe distance from one another. This celebration can be enjoyed by all in a socially-distanced manner.
All tickets include:
- Open bar and global food, all individually portioned
- 24-foot movie screen and videos piped into your car
- Live Latin rhythms
- Fire dancer Gaea Lady
- A chance to get out while supporting a great cause!!
This year, we are proud to honor Shayna Harris with our Trailblazer Award. Shayna is the visionary responsible for Chicago Fair Trade! She conceived the idea when working at Oxfam America and convinced them to provide a seed grant to start a local fair trade coalition. A passionate champion to shape and improve lives through the power of food supply chains, Shayna Harris has spent her career in the food sector championing farmers by developing sustainable food strategies and leading change in more than 20 countries. Currently, Shayna leads her own consulting firm, serves on the board of Sourcemap, and is a contributing writer at Forbes.
The event also features a fabulous silent auction, raffle, fair trade games, and sooo much merriment. We hope you can join us for this special event!
P.S. In order to ensure a safe, socially distanced event-we are selling half as many tickets as we have in past years, so purchase your ticket(s) today!
Designated Driver Requirement: Chicago Fair Trade wants our guests to enjoy all that Globalfest has to offer.... responsibly! While we do have a designated area for pedestrians (non-vehicles) - we know many participants will be celebrating from the comfort of their cars. All cars must designate a responsible driver to not consume alcohol.
