Miles for Cystic Fibrosis exists to help CF families in need, support research toward a cure and encourage the kind of physically active lifestyle that can lengthen and strengthen lives. We honor all those with CF for their marathon-like efforts every day simply to maintain health.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening disease that affects 30,000 people in the United States. People with CF must battle many serious symptoms, including difficulty in breathing and digesting food.
The money we raise is used to help local CF families who need emergency financial assistance because of the high cost of caring for the disease, and to support research toward a cure. We encourage children and adults with cystic fibrosis to be active and exercise to benefit both physical and mental health, and we work through local CF care centers to identify and provide financial assistance to those who need help paying for their chosen physical activity.
65 Roses is a child's mispronunciation of cystic fibrosis. We call our friends who run and fundraise with us "Team 65ROSES." Be part of Team 65ROSES, ask your friends and family to donate in support of your running the Big Peach Sizzler 10K, and help give them longer, stronger lives.
