The Verge Project - the next step towards change
Please join us for #GivingTuesday to raise $10,000 and help us launch The Verge Project for boys transitioning out of our aftercare home.
the next step towards change
Blackbox has developed a new program called The Verge Project to serve the young men connected to us as they transition through our program. Social services in the Dominican Republic requires the boys to leave the aftercare house when they turn 18, but most still need educational assistance, counseling opportunities, legal aid and job placement.
We are committed to walking with these young men as long as they need it, because we know there is more healing and hope to come in their lives. The Verge Project also opens up a new avenue of work to survivors of sex trafficking who were not able to benefit from our aftercare services as minors.
During the global pandemic, several current boys have transitioned away from our residential aftercare home to an independent living environment through The Verge Project. These young men will continue their education, find jobs, gain life skills, serve in their community and their church, and we will provide mentors and counseling to reinforce action steps that help them take their next steps toward change.
By giving on today, you will change the stories of these young men and help them experience more healing and hope through The Verge Project.
