2020 Happy Birthday and Diagnosis Day Abby York!
October is an important month for our family. Abby was born in October and just before her 6th birthday she was diagnosed with Glut1 Deficiency. So, in October we celebrate her Birthday and her Diagnosis Day. We celebrate by having a fundraiser each October to benefit the Glut1 Deficiency Foundation.
Abby is an inspiration to many. She has always been tough as she has had to endure test after test her entire life.
She is a fighter.
The little girl that had to wear a helmet and leg braces for much of her young life due to seizures and falling, now can do anything she wants.

The little girl that was delayed in rolling over, crawling, and walking has been very active during this year’s pandemic. She walked a total of 50 miles in June/July. She did an Abby version of a triathlon in August and has completed two 5k events. Her next challenge is to walk 40 miles in October.

The little girl that needed help holding a pencil and couldn’t read two letter words now loves to read and draw. She dreams of becoming a veterinarian, like her mom. I can’t wait to work with her every day!

All of this happened due to her getting a diagnosis.
Please help the Glut1 Deficiency Foundation in helping others to get their life-changing diagnosis, too.
Thank You!
