Steps to becoming a registered and approved volunteer with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Brazos Valley:
Step 1: Register Online & Submit $20 Background Check Fee payment (will need to include 2 references with name, number, and email address).
Step 2: Clear Background Check
A Boys & Girls Club team member will email you the results of your background check within 2-3 business days following payment of fee,
Step 3: Complete your Volunteer Orientation & Risk Management Training
Volunteer Orientation is hosted weekly (Tuesdays at 3:30pm) at the Newman-Adam Bryan Campus at 1910 Beck Street, Bryan. This training includes a 15-minute tour of the Club and Orientation and a virtual Risk Management & Mandatory Reporter Training required by Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The orientation and training should take an hour or less.
Step 4: Sign Up to Volunteer
After clearing a background check and completing your orientation and after we receive your reference's response, a link will be emailed to you to sign up for volunteer shifts that best suit your schedule. On occasion, you will also receive an email with additional opportunities, as they arise.
Additional Notes:
*If you are volunteering to meet a program or organization requirement, you must apply to volunteer two weeks prior to the program requirement deadline.
** Your background check will be good for one year from the date it clears, to serve at our local Boys & Girls Club.
