Double Mountain Climb
August 19 – 22
Hello Trailmixers, registration is now open!
We are thrilled you have decided to join the 2022 Trailmixer Double Mountain Climb Fundraiser at Three Sisters August 19, 20, 21 and 22.
DETAILS
Continuing our theme of climbing a volcano every other year, we will head to Bend, Oregon to do a double mountain climb over two days, while staying at the Loge Hotel in town. On the 20th, our hardcore adventurers will attempt Middle Sister (elevation 10,047’), for a nearly 18 mile-roundtrip with 5000’ of gain. This hike will include off trail navigating over the Hayden glacier, with a class three section and class two cinder climbing. In a make-your-own-adventure twist, those who do not want to attempt that mountain will hike to Chush Falls, one of the region’s spectacular waterfalls. Then, on the 21st the entire group will hike South Sister, the tallest of the sisters at 10,358’. Shorter mileage here of just 11 miles, but a steep cinder slog up the trail to the summit.
Permit restricted to 24 people. Registration fee is $45 and includes your permit. The fee is non-refundable.
Each climber is required to raise a minimum of $1,500 in sponsorships by August 14th in order to participate. We climb to fundraise for the Trailmixer OUTdoor Access Fund. 100% of the TOAF money will be converted into scholarships to low-income LGBTQ+ youth so they participate in leadership programs, outdoor activities, and environmental teachings provided by our amazing partners. Within the next few days, we will send you an email with instructions to start your personal fundraiser page.
