Do you know how many uses there are for quilting? Blankets, clothes, home goods, art… I could go on and on. Learn the basics and more as we spend our classes exploring the four essential parts of a machine-made quilt. The first two weeks will cover setting up a sewing machine for quilting, traditional and modern approaches to fabric piecing, and how to baste before quilting. We will spend the ladder half learning a variety of quilting methods and binding techniques. You will not only leave this class with a sample binder full of miniature quilts, but the knowledge to apply quilting wherever you see fit!
Prior experience with a sewing machine is preferred. Praxis has machines to use but if you’d be more comfortable bringing your own, you are free to do so!
