The Viewpoints Intensive
A two-day masterclass led by Jeremy Ohringer
The Viewpoints is a movement-based technique developed for performers by Mary Overlie and then by Anne Bogart and Tina Landau that explores the fundamental elements of performance. Guided by the nine Viewpoints - Tempo, Duration, Kinesthetic Response, Repetition Shape, Gesture, Architecture, Spatial Relationship and Topography - performers discover how to honor their impulses while being generous to and respectful of what else is happening in the space. The Viewpoints are an excellent generative tool for an ensemble as well as a practical way to analyze performance and make it clearer to an audience.
Open to young adults, ages 14-22. (No prior experience with The Viewpoints required!) Dates & Times*Two consecutive Sundays: October 16th and October 23rd from 1-4pm
