High School SSI Camp
Detecting Our World Using Applications of the Electro-Magnetic Field at SLAC, Stanford, CA
Students will be hosted at the SLAC Linear Accelerator Laboratory at Stanford University. The focus will be applications of the electro-magnetic field, and the application of the field in building detectors. Each morning will have lectures on various topical talks, while the afternoons will consist of a mix of computer based research, lab experiments, a SLAC tour and discussion sessions. Students will be organized into teams and work with engineers, scientists and staff and focus on building a single detector. Social activities and student team building exercises are also part of the week. This is a truly unique opportunity that allow students and researchers to interact in such a way that enlightens everyone involved. ?
The camp includes all supplies, a tour of SLAC, a certificate of participation, lunch and snacks each day.
will be provided for SSI High School Track students ONLY between Cypress Semiconductors, San Jose and Stanford SLAC, Stanford. Departure to SLAC at 8:15am sharp. Pickup from Cypress Semiconductors at 3:30pm.
Closing ceremonies will be held on Friday at SLAC. Parents are encouraged to come to observe final presentations and graduation.
