Middle School SSI Camp
Electric Car Camp at Applied Materials, Building 1 - AGU, Santa Clara, CA.
Students will learn about alternative energies and electromagnetism in everyday life. By the end the week, campers will build an electric vehicle of their own design and in the process, learn key concepts in planning, designing, measuring, electrical wiring, modeling, and data collection. Students will be organized into teams and work with engineers, scientists and staff that will guide each team through challenging and rewarding design concepts, leading students to unique vehicle designs. The camp includes all supplies, a field trip, snacks and lunch, certificate of participation and a graduation & ice cream social. The week will provide students an educational and fun experience.
Drop off times are from 8:30am - 8:45am. Pick up times are from 3:00pm - 3:15pm. Parents are responsible for transporting their child to and from Applied Materials. Students must be present at the precise time and location to fully participate in the Institute.
Closing ceremonies will be held on Friday at Applied Materials. Parents are encouraged to come to observe final presentations and graduation.
