Overnight Backpack and Climb
June 23 – 25
Hello Trailmixers, registration is now open!
We are thrilled you have decided to join the 2023 Trailmixer Backpack and Climb Fundraiser at Cloudripper in the Sierras, June 23, 24 and 25.
DETAILS
We will be climbing Cloudripper, el. 13,525 feet, the weekend of June 23-25. So, mark your calendars! This Eastern Sierra adventure will start from Bishop, CA. Cloudripper is a high peak in the Inconsolable Range, just to the north of the jagged Palisades.
· We will start at the South Lake trailhead, and backpack 3.5 miles with 1700 feet of gain, to camp at Green Lake, elevation 11,150 feet.
· The next morning, we will hit the trail early, leaving the trail after a mile to boulder hop up over Vagabond Peak, el. 13,373 feet (a mountain two-fer!), and onward to Cloudripper. A seven-mile roundtrip hike, with a bit over 3000 feet of gain.
Upon our return to Bishop, we will celebrate at the Mountain Rambler Brewery, always a favorite!
Each climber is required to raise a minimum of $1,500 in sponsorships by June 18th to participate. We climb to fundraise for the Trailmixer OUTdoor Access Fund. 100% of the TOAF money will be converted into scholarships to low-income LGBTQ+ youth so they participate in leadership programs, outdoor activities, and environmental teachings provided by our amazing partners. Within the next few days, we will send you an email with instructions to start your personal fundraiser page.
* Permit restricted to 16 people. Registration fee is $45 and includes your permit. The fee is non-refundable.
** Due to the unprecedented snow fall this winter, we may have to change location for this event. We will be assessing snow levels in the next couple of months and keep you updated.
