Six-Day, Five-Night Backpacking and Climb
August 17 – 22
Hello Trailmixers, registration is now open!
We are thrilled you have decided to join the 2023 Trailmixer Backpack and Climb Fundraiser in backpacking the North Lake South Lake Loop trail in Bishop, CA, August 17– 22.
DETAILS
We have successfully secured the most competitive permits in the Eastern Sierra! And we got them for the southern start, which means more downhill than uphill. We will have the opportunity to backpack one of the most incredible routes in all the Sierra Nevada, the North Lake–South Lake Loop, starting from the Bishop Pass trailhead at South Lake.
ITINERARY:
This will be a five-day 58-mile journey through the Evolution Valley in Kings Canyon National Park. We will witness some of the most remote wildlands in California on this loop, In LeConte Canyon, Piute Canyon, and Evolution – the headwaters to the San Joaquin River. Crossing three mighty passes along the way, two of them nearly 12,000 feet! The ultimate in Sierra backpacking adventures, this trip is permit restricted to ten, requires a short shuttle from end to start, and will finish with a celebration in Bishop, CA.
Each climber is required to raise a minimum of $1,500 in sponsorships by June 18th to participate. We climb to fundraise for the Trailmixer OUTdoor Access Fund. 100% of the TOAF money will be converted into scholarships to low-income LGBTQ+ youth so they participate in leadership programs, outdoor activities, and environmental teachings provided by our amazing partners. Within the next few days, we will send you an email with instructions to start your personal fundraiser page.
Permit restricted to 10 people. Registration fee is $45 and includes your permit. The fee is non-refundable.
