Dyeing the Rainbow is a class designed to introduce beginners to low-immersion dyeing on cotton. With this technique, one uses as little water as possible, crunching or folding the fabric together for a resist effect. Applying as little or as much stirring as you want will result in different patterns. We will also explore the Parfait technique (also known as ice dyeing). This process creates 3 values (light, medium, dark) of 12 different colors of the spectrum—you will take home about 9 yards (27 feet) of fabric in all colors of the rainbow!
