The Magnolia Art Xchange — known as MAX — is Ocala’s first art incubator, and it is set in historic Union Station. ?MAX is designed to further visual artists’ creativity and professionalism; to be a collaborative resource hub for artists, educators and art enthusiasts; and to dramatically expand the cultural presence in Ocala.

MAX offers studio and communal spaces for resident and member artists, teachers, professional advisers and students — all open for the community’s interaction! Public workshops, classes and events are designed to enrich the ever-present visual artists’ work and growth. Art enthusiasts have the opportunity to personally connect with artists and their art, and to support the artists with purchasing their art.

We can support such projects due in part to the funds we raise through our events. The first annual Mac at the MAX, Mac & Cheese Cook-off will promote the use of local food products and encourage the connection between community members while bringing awareness of what’s available right in Marion County. This outdoor event is open to local restaurants, businesses, organizations and hometown culinary artists competing against each other for the titles: “Cheesy Champion” ( Judge’s Choice) , “Mac Master” (People’s Choice). There will also be a special prize for the “Boss Booth” awarded to the spot with the most notable decor so keep in mind your pizzazz and overall vibe counts too!
