About This Registration
We are donating a run to support GIRLS EDUCATION in Kenya! Join us for Year 5 of the GLOBAL RUN on Saturday, September 29th, 2018!
This is Year 2 for Team Dallas! The GLOBAL RUN supports girls education at the secondary level for the Maasai Tribes in Northern Kenya, where families live in tribal villages of mud and stick huts. They are shepherds for goats and cows, cook on campfires, and carry water from romote wellsites. There are no paved roads or sewers or plumbing.
All children attend school in their community areas through the 8th grade. Secondary years of 9th - 12th grades are only available to boys; so girls stay at home and cook and clean, and become mothers at 14-15 years old. High School education for girls is only available through privately funded secondary schools, supported with YOUR DONATIONS!
Donations of $100 or more entitle the Runner to a free 2018 GLOBAL RUN Tech T-Shirt!
Join Tom Mason, Team Dallas City Captain and a great friend of the Amazing Maasai Girls Project, for a casual, inclusive fun run or walk for this AMAZING cause. Bachman Lake is an ideal venue for a 5km run (slower runners do not fear; we will not leave anyone behind!). All proceeds go directly to school tuition and costs for smart young ladies from the Maasai communities in rural Kenya.
In 2017, more than $50,000 was raised for the Amazing Maasai Girls Project (over $14,000 from Team Dallas!) and 15 fresh-faced young ladies entered high school (secondary school) as a result of the donation of dollars and runs. Let's make 2018 just as EPIC! For Team Dallas, all costs have been underwritten, so your donations go DIRECTLY to girls education!
