Description: Is there a theatre kid inside you begging to be let out to strut their stuff? Do we have a workshop for YOU! Our week-long acting intensive will give theatre geeks an opportunity to develop their skills in character building through self-discovery, script analysis, and imaginative play. We will be performing various exercises intended to develop skills in transforming a character from the two dimensional page into three dimensional life. In addition to the basics of character creation, we will also focus on the importance of the actor’s connection to the body, to the breath, and to the space (kinesthetic awareness).
Actors should select an age-appropriate monologue from a published play which we will work on in class. This will be the basis of our script analysis work and will be performed on our last day. (Please, no original works for this one - we will be writing a short monologue in class where you can show off your playwriting prowess.
COVID-19 SAFETY NOTE: This camp will be an online class in video chat form.
