Easier Meditation through Neuroscience
4 Mondays, November 30 - December 21; 7:15 - 8:45pm
Suggested contribution: $32-80 registration + teacher donation*
Combining modern neuroscience to understand our brain, and the Buddha’s teachings to work with our mind, we can meditate more easily. We will draw from the work of John Yates, PhD (Culadasa) in The Mind Illuminated, as well as Rick Hanson, PhD. Their techniques include using positive reinforcement to train ourselves to be more kind and mindful, and to stabilize our attention. Learn to practice without fighting your mind's natural tendencies! Suitable for beginners and experienced students.
THIS COURSE HAS A SPECIAL ZOOM LINK THAT HAS BEEN EMAILED TO ALL REGISTRANTS. IF YOU CAN'T FIND IT OR ARE REGISTERING AFTER 4:00 ON NOVEMBER 30, PLEASE TEXT JOYCE AT 413-309-9220 TO RECEIVE THE LINK.
*In keeping with the Buddhist tradition of dana (generosity), the suggested registration amounts for our classes and retreats (other than Wednesday night dharma talks) do not include any payment for the teacher. The teachers are paid entirely out of the students' generosity. Please consider giving a donation to the teacher in order to support their ability to continue to share the dharma. You may give a donation at the time of registration and give later donations through our teacher dana link. Everyone is welcome to all of our events regardless of ability to donate.
