Howdy! We’re the Hinckley family —
Daniel and Michelle, with our children Juan Pablo, Emmanuel, Maria Victoria,
Solanus, Joseph, Thomas, and Peter.
We met at the Catholic Student Center at Texas A&M University when Daniel joined the church in 2000. After graduating, Daniel served as a missionary volunteer with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in Comayagua, Honduras and became engaged to Michelle in their chapel when she visited that fall. When we were married in 2003, we asked for no gifts except for donations to our mission work. We spent the next five and a half years as missionaries in Honduras, New York City, and Nicaragua with the Community of Franciscans of the Renewal alongside the Missioners of Christ.
Since moving back home to central Texas in 2009 when our fourth child was born, we have been working to build a faith-filled family life, homestead, and career. Daniel has been self-employed as a civil engineer and Michelle has been a homeschooling mother to our seven children.
We always thought we’d go back into
foreign missions. Now, with three teenagers, we have discerned a call to return
to foreign missions for a time to serve the Lord in His poor and live out more
directly again our call to be a missionary family.
We will join the Missioners of Christ in Honduras as a full-time missionary family to serve the poor in their ministries and to proclaim the Gospel in and for the evangelization of the family. We pray it will be a time of growth in faith, hope and charity for all of us as we serve God in the poor.
An initial project will be the construction of the Beata Margarita physical therapy clinic and longer-term projects are the development of family ministries, accompaniment and discipleship of Honduran families.
