Ending Extreme Poverty through Solidarity, Not Charity

Supporting: Commitment 2030 Fund for FeelGood

Please help us reach our goal of $3,000 raised toward the end of extreme poverty this year.

100% of money we raise is given to the Commitment 2030 Fund, FeelGood's coalition of organizations working at the grassroots level to sustainably eradicate extreme poverty by 2030.

Ending extreme poverty is not a problem of just getting food to the hungry, it's a problem of social transformation. Each organization in the fund has a bottom-up approach to development, with a focus on empowering women who are the key change agents for ending poverty. Additionally, because extreme poverty cannot be ended if we mistreat the planet, environmental sustainability is also central to each organization in the Fund.

The organizations are:

The Hunger ProjectCHOICE HumanitarianPachamama Alliance, and Water For People

Collectively, the work of the Commitment 2030 Fund offers a holistic, complete response to extreme poverty, aligned with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. What exactly will your donation unleash in each organization? Well, all funds are given unrestrictedly, but some notional examples of what your contribution can unleash in each Fund partner org are:

Pachamama Alliance - $25 can provide a safe birthing kits for pregnant women who live deep in the Amazon rainforest, as part of their Jungle Mamas program

Water For People - $50 could pay for the monthly monitoring of one school sanitation block (water and sanitation) facilities in South 24 Parganas, India for 1 year.

The Hunger Project - $120 can Train a Women’s Empowerment Program (WEP) animator in Africa. By building the capacity of selected rural women and men, or community animators, the Women’s Empowerment Program (WEP) fosters an environment that empowers women to take up strategic positions in society and decision-making bodies as well as empowering them as advocates for human rights and gender-based and development issues within their communities.

CHOICE Humanitarian - $130 can install a biodigester (converts human and animal waste to methane) with full hook up to power a gas stove in rural villages in Nepal
