Help me support the best community radio station!!

Campaign has ended

I love Black Power 96 because it's radio by and for the working class black community. This radio station is the soundtrack for my life. I'm not in St. Pete, but I listen on the app while I'm driving, doing dishes or taking a walk. I especially love DJ Eddie's Midday Cafe, The People's War talk show, White People in Solidarity with Black Power show and the Sunday morning political education classes by Chairman Omali Yeshitela. I've been a big fan of community radio for decades and this station is the most exciting and significant I've heard.

I'm so impressed with what this little station has been able to do in their local community. They've kept the community informed about testing and health protocols during COVID-19 - a pandemic that has hit the African community especially hard. They have been the only radio station to provide very localized survival information during Florida's frequent hurricane threats. They influenced the local authorities to allow black community vendors to be able to sell their wares and raise sorely needed resources on Martin Luther King Day.

I love the Local Going Global contest that gives airtime to local artists who could never get onto commercial radio. Black Power 96 is the only station I know that really gives voice to the black working class to tell their own stories and control the narrative for their community.

I hope you'll join me in donating to Black Power 96 during this giving season.
