Future Forge is Silver City's Community Makerspace.
A Makerspace is a collaborative, co-working space full of many types of tools and equipment to use and learn on.
We are located in the heart of downtown Silver City, on the South end of Bullard Street. Our mission is to increase community access to incredible tools, knowledge, and community resources to help people of all backgrounds and ages to continue to learn new skills and make new things!
We officially opened as a Non-Profit Organization in early 2020 ready to offer our space and tools, and to host workshops and classes of all sorts. As the year unfolded with the pandemic taking form, we had to halt our physical classes and scale back many of our operations.
We spent time fabricating medical PPE that was in need, and worked out a lot of infrastructure within the makerspace that would allow us to positively affect the community better.
As things start to reopen, we are planning out our schedules for the rest of 2021 to start to include more events, such as open hack nights, classes, workshops and other educational-community happenings!
Which is why we need support!
Future Forge is 100% volunteer operated! With your donations and community support, we can have the resources to make a bigger impact on our community, offer more educational support, purchase more useful equipment and make sure it is accessible to anyone who wants to learn and will continue to stay accessible for the future! Thank you!
*It should be noted that all photos present were taken before the pandemic! :)
