The mission of this agency is to provide supportive services to people who face barriers such as mental/physical illness, and/or homelessness, in order to facilitate their living with autonomy and dignity.
SPIN operates two sober living transitional houses for people transitioning out of addiction, homelessness, and/or prison or jail. We are currently working towards transitional housing women both in Silver City and Deming. Our transitional houses house 10 men in Silver City and 4 in Deming and has a waiting list more than 6 months long.
This year's GIVE GRANDLY funds will be used to keep the SOS overnight shelter open through the summer.
Staff at SPIN both in Silver City and Deming help those experiencing homelessness for any number of reasons such as severe mental illness or other disabilities get connected to community resources, apply for disability, and obtain and maintain stable housing. Often our staff are treatment guardians for persons experiencing severe mental illness.
