Hello family and friends,
As we endure the ongoing challenges of living in a pandemic world, community is everything. I'm proud to serve my coffee community as a board member of Go Fund Bean. Go Fund Bean was founded as a response to massive job loss (I'm included in the thousands upon thousands who lost income and health insurance unexpectedly overnight!) in the pandemic and is a non-profit that supports, uplifts, and defends hourly coffee workers. As someone who spent nearly a decade as a working barista, I profoundly understand the need for organizations like Go Fund Bean and am humbled to be a part of it.
For Giving Tuesday, we're raising funds to help establish an ongoing Disaster Relief Fund.
When Hurricane Ida hit Louisiana and the Northeast earlier this year, we gave nearly $100,000 in financial relief grants to people who had missed paychecks or lost their jobs entirely. We don’t know when or where the next climate disaster will hit, but we do know that hourly employees will be the most vulnerable people in the face of it. Donations to this fund will help someone stay on their feet the next time a disaster occurs. Please consider donating today. If you can’t, please forward this to someone who can. Any amount helps, whether it's $5, $10, or $25.
Thank you for your consideration and for supporting Go Fund Bean!
