On June 18, I will participate in the 2022 Delta Dental Mt. Washington Road Race. The race is 7.6 miles long with a vertical gain of 4,650 feet to the summit. Amateur runners, like myself, are selected via lottery, and after several years of trying, my name was called to run.  I am running to raise money for Aaron's Presents, a youth program I am passionate about and now volunteer with as a Board member.

Aaron’s Presents is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization that gives young kids an opportunity to dream up and carry out a project that benefits others. Kids gain valuable leadership and project management skills, and traits like empathy, generosity, and a sense of purpose are given an opportunity to grow as they take positive action for the benefit of others in their communities. Since last September, more than 400 kids--about 85% from low-income cities of Lawrence and Lowell, MA--joined the organization, planning 300 projects that impacted more than 4,000 people and animals. I'm always inspired by what the kids accomplish.

As I train for the race, I am motivated by the thought that although we may be faced with "hills," challenges within our society that can seem overwhelming and insurmountable, there are small, powerful acts of kindness performed all around us that make the road ahead seem less steep.

Please take this opportunity to help Aaron’s Presents continue to grow within their local communities!
