Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts of the USA, the preeminent all-girl organization in the United States, was founded in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low. For the past 110 years, developing leadership abilities has remained the mission of Girl Scouts. Today Girl Scouting provides girls ages 5-18 with progressive and continuous value-based adventure in learning, in partnership with caring adults.

Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest (GSDSW) staffs ten program centers across West Texas and Southern New Mexico, including a location in Silver City. Girl Scouts is the world's premiere leadership training program for girls.
We BELIEVE… in the power of girls. A Girl Scout can design her own outdoor adventure, attend a STEM camp, learn business skills, and create community change through service projects. Our girls find they have strong voices and big dreams.
We CONNECT… more than 2,400 girls and nearly 1,500 volunteers who experience new adventures and make friendships that can last a lifetime.
We TAKE ACTION…our members change communities and the world through small acts of kindness and through BIG ideas that make a lasting impact.
