The mission of this agency is to provide supportive services to people who face barriers such as mental/physical illness, and/or homelessness, in order to facilitate their living with autonomy and dignity.
SPIN operates three sober living transitional houses for people transitioning out of addiction, homelessness, and/or prison or jail. We recently added a house for women to our operations. We also recently opened an office in Lordsburg inside of Hope Haven.
This year's GIVE GRANDLY funds will be used for operating costs for the SOS shelter.
Staff at SPIN in the Silver City, Deming, and Lordsburg offices help those experiencing homelessness or who are at risk for experiencing housing instability for any number of reasons such as severe mental illness or other disabilities get connected to community resources, apply for disability, develop life skills, and obtain and maintain stable housing. We offer both group and individual therapy opportunities. Often our staff are treatment guardians for persons experiencing severe mental illness. We believe that complete wrap around services and intensive case management with housing support will be the way we change the way mental health is managed in our region.
We believe that helping "the least of" us... improves the quality of life for the entire community.
