I am currently a fellow for the Joyce Ivy Foundation's Philanthropy team. In 2016, Joyce Ivy provided me with the financial means to attend the Yale Young Global Scholars Program for Politics, Law, and Economics. For two weeks, I attended seminars pertaining to subjects that weren't taught at my school, listened to lectures given by world-renowned professors, and was able to work and exchange ideas with people all over the world. I was able to immerse myself into an educational and new environment that I wouldn't have been able to experience without the help of the Joyce Ivy Foundation. This foundation awards scholarships to girls all across the Midwest attend prestigious summer programs, as I have, and allows them to stretch their comfort zones to new limits. This campaign will help insure that, just as I was able to, many girls in the Midwest will be able to stretch their comfort zones and have the financial ability to attend a prestigious summer program of their choice.
Summer Scholars alumnae pay it forward in many different ways, including participating in an annual fundraiser that supports a scholarship for a current Summer Scholar.
