Matthew Scarfo - JAR of Hope Climb For a Cure

by Matthew Scarfo

Campaign has ended

I need your help to climb Mt. Everest with Jim, Dillon, and the rest of Team Jamsey.

My name is Matt Scarfo. A good friend and even better man, Jim Raffone, is on a warpath to save his son, and others, from Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD)-Currently there is no cure.

I need help in the form of donations and sponsorship to cover the necessary expenses
associated with traveling to KMD and climbing Mount Everest.
These expenses include flight, meager accommodations (it's Mt. Everest after all), gear, guides, insurances,
and other costs associated with such an endeavor.

It is because I am the father of three beautiful children, because I love them so deeply, and feel so deeply their pain and anguish that I've devoted myself to getting Jim and Team Jamsey to the rooftop of the world so he can demonstrate the depth the love he has for his son. This will move us 29,000 feet closer to a cure for Duchenne, saving countless lives and changing countless more.

"You will never know how much I love you, until you have children of your own."
Madaline Scarfo

When I learned that Jim was going to climb Mt. Everest for his son Jamsey I only had one thought - "He has to get to the top of that thing, no matter what." It's because I know how much Jim loves his son that I've committed to helping him do exactly that. I'm an endurance athlete, ultra runner, and human performance expert. I know from experience that each of us are far more capable than we give ourselves credit for. I know how dark it can get when we hit a wall or continually stumble. And I know how important it is to have dependable and devoted friends who are there for you when you need them most.

On behalf of you, your family, and the love that you have for your children, let's help this man demonstrate the love and devotion that he has for his son.

Help me get Jim Raffone and Team Jamsey 29,000 feet closer to a cure for Duchenne.

Thank you,

Matthew Scarfo

JAR of Hope is sending a team of courageous men to climb MT. EVEREST. Yes, Jim and a small group of men will be traveling to Nepal to climb their way to the base camp of Mt. Everest.  17,598 feet into the sky the team will be climbing to raise awareness and funds to find a cure.

JAR of Hope will be filming a documentary about this historic journey. First, bringing a film crew to Katmandu to record how children with Duchenne live there. How poor the conditions may be. What the children might be lacking. JAR of  Hope is hoping to bring resources to Katmandu to help these families but we need your help to do this.
