Hi, my name is Rafi Ahmed. If you know anything about me, you know that there is nothing that I am more passionate about than TVAC, of which I have been a proud member since August 2021. Throughout my time at Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps I have been privileged to serve my hometown, and give back to my community.
As a proud member of TVAC, I am trained in all components of basic life support. I can help with simple things, like dressing wounds and splinting extremities, and I can help in more complex ways, like performing CPR or delivering babies. Since joining, I performed CPR 4 times - twice successfully, with the patients regaining pulses. There is nothing more incredible in life than bringing someone back from clinical death.
At TVAC, we take immense pride in our quick response time and high level of patient care. The average EMS response time in Bergen County, NJ is 16 minutes. TVAC’s response time averages between 2 to 5 minutes. When seconds count, we dispatch the closest EMTs directly to the scene in addition to a fully staffed ambulance from our headquarters. This response model ensures that care can be started as quickly as possible with rapid transport to an appropriate hospital. Unfortunately, many members lack some essential equipment - such as AEDs and oxygen tanks.
With your help, we can change that. By donating to our campaign, you are ensuring that each of our members is fully stocked with life saving equipment, so we can save lives in the most expedient manner.
The sooner we reach you the better. Help us improve our response mechanism so that we can make our community safer and healthier.

Currently, we do not have the resources to supply ALL of our members with a complete medical bag, oxygen tank, and automated external defibrillator (AED). We are asking you to consider a tax-deductible donation to enable our members to reduce the time to initiate life-saving treatment even further, by guaranteeing that each of our members is equipped to provide the highest level of treatment possible. Seconds really matter!
This campaign can only be successful with the generous support of the entire Teaneck community. We appreciate your generosity, and we pledge that we will always be there for you, your family, your neighbor, and your friends in a time of need. Our volunteers are your neighbors, coworkers, and even family members. Items can be donated individually (see below for prices) or as an entire “first responder kit” ($3000).
If you would like to make a donation in honor of a loved one or for a specific dedication. Please email us at [email protected]
Please consider supporting the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Since our founding in 1939, we have never charged a patient, and we consist solely of volunteer members who receive no monetary compensation. We continue to rely on your generosity so that we can assist anyone in the community in their time of need. Please Help us Help you!
