Hey all! My name is Ana. I've been a proud member of TVAC for just over 3 years with the majority of that time served as a Lieutenant and Captain.
In January 2019, I came in for my interview to join an organization that I would come to deeply cherish. During my interview, a crew member who has since become a dear friend of mine got a call for a choking 4 year old. Everyone in the room shot up from their seats and ran to the ambulance as pager tones went off, and within no more than 15 seconds, the ambulance was nothing but a cluster of lights going down Windsor Road.
After that, I knew TVAC was definitely the place I was meant to be.
Boy oh boy, was I right! I've gained the best and most caring family I could ask for, met with open arms by people who have since become some of my closest friends. I've gotten to know some of the most down-to-earth, dedicated, wholesome individuals who constantly give so much of themselves for the betterment of not only the organization as a whole, but for those we respond to.
Above all, I found a place made of the community, for the community, who's #1 priority is providing the best emergency care to people in their most vulnerable and critical moments.
And now, TVAC needs your help.
Our responders are there for you 24/7, 365. We are your neighbors, congregation members, family, and friends.
By giving us a tax deductible donation, you bring us closer to stocking each of our emergency responders with vital, life-saving equipment; a defibrillator to restart your neighbor's heart, an oxygen tank to help your family member breathe, a tourniquet to stop a stranger from bleeding out, amongst many more tools that we use to save countless lives.
You can bring us even closer to achieving our sole mission: providing the best emergency medical care to anyone who calls, at any time.
If you have an emergency, dial 9-1-1.
At TVAC, we take immense pride in our quick response time and high level of patient care. The average EMS response time in Bergen County is sixteen minutes. TVAC’s response time averages between 2-5 minutes. When seconds count, we dispatch the closest EMTs directly to the scene in addition to our crew and ambulance from our headquarters. This response model ensures that care can be started as quickly as possible with rapid transport to an appropriate hospital.
Currently, we do not have the resources to supply ALL of our members with a complete medical bag, oxygen tank, and automated external defibrillator (AED). We are asking you to consider a tax-deductible donation to enable our members to reduce the time to initiate life-saving treatment even further, by guaranteeing that each of our members is equipped to provide the highest level of treatment possible. Seconds really matter!
This campaign can only be successful with the generous support of the entire Teaneck community. We appreciate your generosity, and we pledge that we will always be there for you, your family, your neighbor, and your friends in a time of need. Our volunteers are your neighbors, coworkers, and even family members. Items can be donated individually (see below for prices) or as an entire “first responder kit” ($3000).
If you would like to make a donation in honor of a loved one or for a specific dedication. Please email us at [email protected]
Please consider supporting the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Since our founding in 1939, we have never charged a patient, and we consist solely of volunteer members who receive no monetary compensation. We continue to rely on your generosity so that we can assist anyone in the community in their time of need. Please Help us Help you!
