My fundraising pays for a survivor of a medical setback to experience the life-affirming gift of becoming an endurance athlete through participation in an epic adventure. While I’m paying my own way on this 2-day, 47-ish-mile hike across the Grand Canyon and back, I'll be forever grateful for your financial assistance to help me fund a grant for a well-deserving recipient!

It’s about more than the adventure itself - it's the forever bonds formed on the trail, the leadership lessons learned through mutual hardship, and the renewed faith in oneself that you are capable of so much more than you think you are - regardless of ability level.

Project Athena helps survivors live their adventurous dreams through epic, life-affirming adventures. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer 10 years ago, I proudly sported my "0.0" bumper sticker on my car and avoided all activities that might result in breaking a sweat. Through Project Athena, I’ve cycled, kayaked, and hiked thousands of miles - through seemingly endless training, across the Florida Keys and the Grand Canyon, and through Zion National Park, twice. And I have the bumper stickers to prove it!

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a grant recipient or fundraiser, please contact me - I'd love some company on my next adventure! You won't find these funds spent on expensive marketing or fat paychecks for Board members, but you WILL find lives changed in the most glorious ways.
