My life is Mission!

Supporting: Honduran Community Sponsorship for Missioners of Christ

My name is Vilma Yaneth Heranndez Gomez and I am 23 years old. I am from the city of Comayagua, Honduras and have nine siblings. I met the missioners of Christ in 2011 through the Missionaries of Charity in my neighborhood during a first communion retreat that the Missioners gave. After meeting them I fell in love with their mission and decided to get to know them better and that was when I assisted to the "Pan de Vida" retreat. Later I also assisted to the "Semana de Entrenamiento" (week of training) and that's how I began with my first mission; an experience I will never forget! I entered the missionary community September 2013. It has been a blessing to be in this community and serve others fulfilling the command of Christ:

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit," Matthew 28: 19.

Now my life is mission. Currently I am the director of local ministries. These ministries are an apostolate of catholic formation. They are carried out by a group of the Missioners of Christs and the end is to make Christ known through a continuous accompaniment to the persons in our neighborhood including children and their parents. We always leave the door open for the Holy Spirit to influence everything we do guided by his presence in our lives.
