Rebecca, Tom and Everett...Walking for the the Animals!

Supporting: 2017 Gloucester Pride Stride for Gloucester Pride Stride Committee

My Team: Cape Ann Animal Aid

I'm once again participating in the Gloucester Pride Stride, a 3-mile community walk to raise funds for local nonprofit and community groups. This year, I'm hoping to raise $1,000 for Cape Ann Animal Aid! Tom and Everett are coming along too :)

Cape Ann Animal Aid consistently goes above and beyond for each and every animal. I consider myself lucky to go to work every day and spend time with the animals, seeing their transformation from homeless to loved. Many arrive in our care in poor condition and the transformation these animals make through stellar vet care and the love and attention of our staff and volunteers is nothing short of amazing! Over the past 10 years, I've witnessed countless adoptions, bonded with so many animals, and cried tears of both joy and sorrow.

My friends and family might recall my special love for a sweet Chihuahua mix named Tiki? She spent her days in our office while undergoing treatments for an enlarged heart and lung damage after recovering from Heartworm. Cape Ann Animal Aid didn't give up on this sweet girl--even though her care was very expensive! From diagnostic x-rays to inhalers and vet visits, donation made to the Veterinary Care Fund made it possible. I'm happy to share that Tiki was adopted when her treatment concluded last spring and her new family reports that she's doing well and thriving. Supporters just like you made that possible!

As my friends and family know, my love for animals runs deep and I'm determined to do what I can for them. I hope you'll join me in my efforts by sponsoring me in the Gloucester Pride Stride and helping me reach my fundraising goal. Your donation is 100% tax-deductible and it's so very deeply needed and much appreciated. On behalf of animals like Tiki, thank you, thank you, thank you!

1) Local nonprofit organizations and community/school groups sign up to create a Pride Stride Team.
2) Community members join an organization/groups team and raise money for that cause by collecting pledges for walking in the Gloucester Pride Stride, a 3 mile walk around downtown Gloucester that starts and ends at Stage Fort Park on Sunday, April 30, 2017.
3) Team members create a fundraising page, share the page link with friends and family through email and social media, and collect donations. Printable pledge sheets are available for those that don't want to raise funds online.
4) After the walk, Gloucester Pride Stride will distribute checks to each participating group at the annual Awards Dinner.
