I've been very fortunate to never have dealt with Alzheimer's up close. All four of my grandparents are healthy and still living life to the fullest. I hadn't realized what a huge blessing that was until I joined this organization two months ago. I've heard so many heartbreaking stories from my teammates about how Alzheimer's has affected their lives and the lives of their loved ones. I'm a nerd so when I start to love or hate something I want to learn everything about it. I've listened to a lot of TED Talks about Alzheimer's and bored my husband with a lot of details about neurons and brain plague and synapses. And I've come to the conclusion that Alzheimer's SUCKS. It's entirely not fair.

So I'm really glad that I took a leap of faith and decided to spend this summer meeting really great girls, sweating in the 100+ degree Texas heat, learning to play football, spreading Alzheimer's awareness, and most importantly raising money towards eradicating this disease with BvB Dallas. Our 2017 beneficiaries are The Center for Vital Longevity, The Center for Brain Health, and The Baylor AT&T Memory Center. All of these organizations are doing great things to #TackleALZ! We had the opportunity to visit the Center for Brain Health and learn about the programs our money is funding and I was in tears. They are doing AMAZING things. And I have absolutely no doubt our other beneficiaries are doing equal amounts of hard work to get rid of this disease.

The 10th Annual powder-puff game is on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at The Cotton Bowl in Dallas. I'm a linebacker. It's going to be awesome. With each $25 donation towards Alzheimer's research and awareness, you will receive a ticket to the game! Come see me sweat and probably get more bruises. Let's do this.

Thank you so much for all of your love and support!
