I'm climbing every mountain... to raise money to get LGBTQ+ youth access to the outdoors.

When I set myself up to co-start a nonprofit that gives back to the LGBTQ+ community and that also allows me to explore my absolute adoration for nature, and thought "it would be great just to be out there, visiting cool spots, views, waterfalls and pretty trails"… had no idea I was gonna be climbing up mountains with over 14,000ft summits, slapping on mountaineering boots, crampons and carrying an ice ax to climb to the top of active volcanoes (Mount Shasta & Mount Saint Helens), spending days backpacking while carrying 40-50 LB on my back, and training at the most spectacular mountain ranges right here in our backyard. Last year alone, I hiked 209 miles in 150 hours, climbed 46,529 feet and burned 46,162 calories and most importantly, raised $7,028 for the Trailmixer OUTdoor Access Fund (TOAF).
Will you help me beat last year's number and make a donation?
Our efforts will raise money for the Trailmixer OUTdoor Access Fund. 100% of the TOAF money will be converted into scholarships to low-income LGBTQ+ youth so they participate in leadership programs, activities, and environment teachings provided by Trailmixer's amazing partners. These programs will give them tools to develop new skills so they can thrive in their schools, workplaces, and personal lives. community.
In order to maximize the funds donated by awesome people like you, I will (and so will my climbing mates) cover my own costs for travel, lodging, food and gear for these two events. Your donation is for the youth and is much appreciated.
Hello from the Trailmixer Team!
OUT Hiking for Our Community (Trailmixer)* is an organization of hikers with the mission of providing safe, inclusive access to the outdoors to LGBTQ+ folks. Trailmixer works to give back to underserved LGBTQ+ youth year-round, whether that is through scholarships from our fundraiser clim-supported Trailmixer OUTdoor Access Fund or educational community events such as the Unicorn Hikes.
Trailmixer's members and volunteers participate in leadership workshops and community events to help provide LGBTQ+ young adults with tools and skills to grow up with the confidence that they can be whoever they want to be in our society. We are working on developing new nature programs and activities with other factions of the LGBTQ+ community. Our work will grow more with your help.
